Sixth Race for Mayhan's Racin in 2011. Mayhans Racin 2011 Results

MMS August 20, 2011, The crew had the #8 car handling great, we re installed the correct gear combination which was spot on! We finished 4th in the feature and ran 3rd most of the race. We could have had a better finish if not for the tires heating up and just going bad loose for the final 10 laps. We need to secure tire sponsorship for 2012 and we could keep the car up front! We will keep working on that balance and overall set up and find every little bit of speed we can. We have the correct overall gear now and with this combination we were very competitive. Thanks to my crew, great job as always!

Double Feature Night Fourth and Fifth Race for Mayhan's Racin in 2011. Mayhans Racin 2011 Results

MMS August 13, 2011, The crew had our #8 Chevy Monte Carlo handling great but one problem....i decided to adjust the gear ratios and boy did i mess it up! We have found out with this crate motor combination you can only adjust so much and if you go one way or the other too much it either kills the engine or chips way to hard. We know know what will work and will re install the other combination. With the lazy gear we finished 7th and 8th (our worst finishes of the year). We gotta keep working on that balance and overall set up. We are so close and now we know what overall gear works best with our combination. Thanks to my crew, great job as always!

Third Race for Mayhan's Racin in 2011. Mayhans Racin 2011 Results

MMS July 16, 2011, The crew had our #8 Chevy Monte Carlo handling great and hooked up on a new set of 890 HOOSIER'S! We drew for qualifing, got lucky and started 1st for our third race of the year. The car was nice and smooth through the corners and we had power all around the track. We were able to lead the first 10 laps of the feature but my luck ran out when we ran over some metal that punctured the left rear tire. The puncture caused the car to become very loose and just got worse as the laps wound down. When the race was over we were able to hold on to a TOP5 finish but then came tech..... We were able to gain some of the positions lost back and finished 3rd for the night. We checked the tire after the race and it had around 7 pounds of air (HOT) and a sliver of metal in it. Overall it was a good night, we hit our rev limit of 6200 rpms really solid deep in the corners. We had a great handling car, the new tires were faster and way more consistent. We gotta keep working on that balance and overall set up and just maybe we can improve next race. Special thanks to my crew, great job as always!

Second Race for Mayhan's Racin in 2011. Mayhans Racin 2011 Results

MMS June 4, 2011, We had our #8 Chevy Monte Carlo handling great again... in practice anyway! We qualified 2nd for our second race of the year. The car was nice and smooth through the corners and we had decent power all around the track. I made a tire pressure change before the race and that caused a bad push for half of the feature. We came in under caution and adjusted the tire pressure and it helped the car turn for the last 10 laps. We hit our rev limit of 6200 rpms pretty solid deep in the corners. We got faster throughout the race with our lap times and we are still giving up a ton to the others with our 390 carb and 602 crate. Now we gotta find some extra power somewhere. First Race for Mayhan's Racin in 2011. Mayhans Racin 2011 Results

MMS April 16, 2011, We had our #8 Chevy Monte Carlo handling great! It was nice and smooth through the corners and had good power all around the track. We decided to make a gear change earlier in the week to help adjust for our rev limit of 6200 rpms, the gear allowed us to barely hit the chip deep in the corners but it also made the car a little lazy from the center out. Not knowing what will happen with another possible rule change before the next race May 7th we now are wondering were to go with the car. We were consistent throughout the day with our lap times. Now we need to just get some extra power from our sealed engine. Special thanks to Hawk and my crew, you all did a great job!
